Examinations & Tests are conducted via a tabled based check list & procedures. Evaluations & test data are electronically captured on site and made available to the client in an on-line accessible reportage package.

As per flag state regulations, all lifting Appliances and loose gear on board used for all cargo handling or other lifting requirements, need to have valid certificates. Lifting appliances and loose gear needs to be periodically inspected, proof load tested and the certificate renewed. Lifting Equipment without valid certificates are deemed unsafe and may not be used.

ALATAS provides loose gear testing and loose gear certification in accordance with classification requirements and in accordance with ILO 152, either on board or ashore. On our Loose Gear Test Stand, designed and fabricated by ALATAS, we can provide examination and testing of all Loose Gear, i.e. hooks, shackles, slings, chain blocks, pulleys & swivels, up to 50 tonnes.

ALATAS, as an Enterprise of Competence is Class approved to carry out Survey, Repair and Testing of Lifting Appliances in accordance with IACS UR Z17. Loose Gear testing is performed by our experienced technical personnel and witnessed by an accredited ALATAS Inspector with a B-1 Competent Person Certificate, issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority. Upon successful testing we will issue ILO Form No.3, Certificate of test and thorough examination of the loose gears.
