Load Testing of 400T Huisman AHC Offshore Crane

The vessel is a Cable & Pipe Layer, with a Huisman Main Crane, mounted on the ship's stern. The Crane is an Active Heave Compensated Offshore Crane, with a SWL of 400 ton, model Huisman PMOC 400T.

ALATAS was tasked to carry out a 440 metric ton overload test, including crane condition assessment (5 yearly crane survey), crane critical load path NTD testing, crane hook NDT testing, and re-socketing of the main hoisting wire rope, as per ABS class requirements for a 5 yearly crane load test and crane annual survey:

- Supply factory trained Huisman Offshore Crane specialist:

- Supply Rope Access Technician and qualified NDT inspector:

- Supply 5x 100T waterbags, rigging gear and 500 ton load cell:

- Supply qualified Rope Technician for re-socketing of a size 92mm open Spelter Socket:

The Customer advantage is that the entire workscope can be provided by ALATAS as a turnkey service. The use of simplified rigging, large capacity 100T water bags and optional utilization of additional diesel or electric driven seawater pumps greatly speeds up the load testing time and as such saves costs by minimizing vessel down time. :
